The Spiritual Inner Circle

“The people we choose around us determine our destiny and who we can be tomorrow”
While Jesus was still speaking, some people came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue leader. “Your daughter is dead,” they said. “Why bother the teacher anymore? “overhearing what they said, Jesus told him, “Don’t be afraid; just believe. “He did not let anyone follow him except Peter, James and John the brother of James. When they came to the home of the synagogue leader, Jesus saw a commotion, with people crying and wailing loudly. He went in and said to them, “Why all this commotion and wailing? The child is not dead but asleep.” But they laughed at him. After he put them all out, he took the child’s father and mother and the disciples who were with him, and went in where the child was. Mark5: 35-45.
Life itself is hard to know how to live without people around you, and in fact it becomes harder to determine who we need in this life, and yet God requires us to know still with people around us, however, it becomes really hard for us to determine who we can let go in this devastating life. To Christians it becomes a high mountain to climb especially in this perverse generation. When Jesus Christ was on earth, He lived a life that is hard to live minus His Grace. He chose 12 disciples and better still amongst the 12 disciples still He was careful to those who would get close to him. He chose 3 disciples who would be close and better still amongst He chose 1 who was the closest friend and the one who would sleep in His chest, there are 3 types of words to consider.
1. Close
2. Closest
3. The most closest.
One day Jesus Christ was called by a synagogue Leader whose daughter was sick, and as Jesus Christ was going to heal the daughter, he found many things on the way as he was moving with His disciples to Jarius place. in other words he found many things to first handle, there was a lady who had blood flow for 12 years and many more who wanted healing, having been merciful He first worked on them, and the person who had called him was still with him, some people told him his daughter was already dead and he should not disturb the Teacher.
Jesus Christ knowing who He was and who He is and having faith was not shaken by the sad news that was brought from the house of Jarius. The sad news, could have shifted faith but he was not moved by it, He just told Jarius to believe only.
Now this comes to the point and basis of this subject the inner Circle.
When Jesus Christ was entering the house where dead child had been laid, He choose 3 disciples, that was Peter, James and John and even those who were close to the girl like relatives were pushed out of the house except the Mother of the Girl and the Father were left in.
Someone could have said Jesus Christ was crazy to chase out all the people out of the house, there is a mystery here, we need to know as Christians. Jesus Christ was creating an inner Spiritual Circle, and he choose the 3 disciples because he knew they would not doubt him about the dead rising from the dead, many had wanted to be around Jesus Christ but Jesus did not allow any to be around including the relatives of the child.
What can we learn from the scriptures?
1. In this life we are living we need to create Spiritual circles with Christians who have the same belief as we have, who are not going to be a hindrance to our Vision. Jesus Christ vision was demonstrate what God can do, but He choose wisely at that critical moment, He was Jesus Christ the son of the Living God, He can do anything, He could have left all the people in the house to witness the resurrection unfortunately Jesus Christ chose the 3 disciples instead of the whole 12 entering the house to raise the little girl. This means we need to choose the right Christians, friends, business partners in the mission we have on this earth, others may be like those who were mocking Jesus Christ thinking the girl was already dead and he is only wasting time. We need to build the inner circle of the Spirit with people who can understand the mission we have on this earth and what we need to achieve in life.
He did not let anyone follow him except Peter, James and John the brother of James. Mark5:37. Jesus Christ was the wisest person you can know of all people who have lived on earth, His wisdom was infinite in this regard, and He chose especially when he wanted to share about the secrets of the Kingdom, he chose those who were relevant at that time.
2. Get rid of people/ Christians who are not building or who may discourage you or who may not contribute to the Spiritual life you may want to live or who want to be in this world and the life to come. This act is the hardest but Jesus Christ had to demonstrate it, if you are living with people who are not building you spiritually, business wise, development wise and so forth, you have to let them go out of the house, this means out of our lives, the mockers were put out by Jesus Christ because there is nothing they would contribute to Jesus Christ except mockery. Letting some of the people go around is scriptural and biblical but that does not mean you cannot talk to them, but God wants us to choose friends and who can be around us wisely otherwise people who say this can’t be done are supposed to put out of the house, just like Jesus Christ did, He even chose the 3 disciples leaving the 10 outside the house as well. The mockers, time wasters, gold diggers are supposed to be put outside the house, my brother or Sister your life is precious, if you don’t let go some of the things, friends they will affect your destiny. Those who you choose today will determine your destiny and what you would be later.
3. The people or fellow Christians we choose to be the closest friends can determine our success and have victory over the enemies. Jesus Christ demonstrated that you can have many friends who want to be close around you but you cannot have more than 3 closest friends. You may have many friends around or even many Christians and they are not close, you can do all Christian works together but they are also supposed to have a limit to where they can reach. Jesus Christ chose Peter, James and John, and of which amongst them he had the closest who was John, this explains the fact of life. It’s hard to have more than 3 closest friends. The closest friend should be able, willing, and always available, can build you, can tell when you go wrong and above all they should be believing in you in whatever circumstances, His/her friendship is based on Love not material gain. John had to be called the disciple whom Jesus loved.
He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish. Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” As soon as Simon Peter heard him say, “It is the Lord,” John21:6-7. This life is not easy, even the disciples did not believe Jesus Christ even after the resurrection. Now if the twelve disciples still wanted to believe Jesus Christ by first seeing, what about your friends who know your weaknesses and do you think they can believe in you to achieve something? That’s why we must know the purpose we are supposed to do here on earth with friends and build the inner Spiritual Circle, the people in the Spiritual Inner circle must understand our weakness and can offer support instead of blame, the people in that Spiritual Inner circle should believe you as an achiever and you can do it.
Jesus Christ chose James, Peter and John, simply they believed in him and they would not doubt the miracles and He would also inspire them to do more when He goes away. As Christians or people in this world we need the Spiritual Circle, not anyone can be this circle. Jesus Christ had create that, and it never stopped there. Whenever Jesus Christ wanted to show something secretive or important He would take the 3 and leave the 10 behind. But all disciples had been called by Jesus Christ, but it’s still the same Jesus Christ who could chose the 3, this did not mean segregation in what you may perceive, Jesus Christ was teaching us as Christians how we need the Spiritual Inner circle with people we can build with the Spiritual life God wants, and how we can inspire one another to build the Kingdom of God.
After six days Jesus took Peter, James and John with him and led them up a high mountain, where they were all alone. There he was transfigured before them. His clothes became dazzling white, whiter than anyone in the world could bleach them. And there appeared before them Elijah and Moses, who were talking with Jesus. Mark9:2-4.
This was a second time Jesus Christ still picked Peter, James and John, remember he was going to the high mountain to pray, this means we have to be careful with people we are bringing to the holy mountain this could the prayer partner. Normally Christians need to have that Spiritual circle, this normally is about prayers, the people we choose to pray with, to do business with, and to have fun with, to relationship must be scrutinized very well. Do they believe in you? Do they support you? Can they build you? Do they offer sound knowledge and sound counsel to you? If not then throw them out of the house though this might be painful to do.
This does not mean we can’t have friends or we should limit friends but we can have boundaries for the Spiritual Inner circle for those who can contribute who we want to be tomorrow both in God and in the body. The friends, the Christians we choose to be close to us will determine who we can be in the future, if we choose Christians who are always sad in life we might end up like them, if we choose Christians who are prayerful then we can become prayerful, if we choose Christians who love God we can always Love based on their inspiration not setting apart the Grace of God. The friends we choose everyday will determine our future, they can either be a hindrance to victory, or they can delay success we would have.
Jesus Christ was very wise in his earthly times for he did not give himself to men because he knew who men were, the disciples were also men and He was never misled by them because they were many but He choose instances where He needed them most to inspire them the more. After when Peter, James, and John saw the transfiguration of Jesus Christ, their Faith increased tremendously. Jesus knew he would die and resurrect and so he wanted the people he can trust, who are faithful who would keep His secrets of the Kingdom, who would believe in whatever He would tell them. Even now He is still looking for such people he can entrust with his sheep, the faithful who can keep God’s word intact.
We need friends or Christians around who can inspire us to change and do God’s will in life, we need friends who can be in the inner Circle in tough times to raise the dead when others are mocking, the dead person would be a situation around, and people know that’s the end of you, there is nothing you can do about it, but if you have friends the 3 friends around who believe in you, and know who you are, then you can rise up again, the little girl’s life came back to life because Jesus Christ chose well and created that Inner circle the rest were pushed out of the house. At times as Christians we lack that determination to make right decisions to know what can build us, we often think people who laugh with us are the friends, okay if they laugh with you are they supporting you in times trouble? If they are there times of trouble are they there to inspire or they can increase trouble instead. To live a life of Jesus Christ is really not simple as we think, we need His wisdom, his counsel, his Word and His Grace above all. If we look at Jesus Christ as a Saviour, our Hero, our Inspiration the result might be positive we gonna like Him, if we see Jesus bothering us with His commandments then he cannot inspire and we can never be like. Jesus Christ was always inspired by God, and by the Holy Spirit. He needed to be in the presence of God all the time because that’s where His Life was, if we see our life in others then we can be what we want to be, if you see that friend around does not contribute to your Spiritual, he is always negative or his or her ways are not leading you to development or to become a better person then he is wrongly placed around you. The house should be opened for them to be out until the little girl rises again.
You could imagine Jairius He had a problem of His daughter who had died but the friends, closest family members, relatives never believed that His daughter can be healed even when He believed instead they were giving his negative responses towards the daughter he loved dearly Imagine this man travelled to look for Jesus Christ in pursuit of healing to his daughter but still the friends followed him up even where he had found Jesus Christ with messages of doubts and they plainly told him to leave Jesus Christ alone. And now this where we may find a problem, the friends we chose can push us away from trusting in God, they can lead us to doubt God, His power. Jarius was discouraged by the relatives and friends who had been with him for a long time, Jesus Christ to take away all of them out Jarius life in order to have life for the child, they did not deserve to see what Jesus Christ was doing behind the scenes, those who He chose were able to be inspired by Jesus Christ.
While Jesus was still speaking, some people came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue leader. “Your daughter is dead,” they said. “Why bother the teacher anymore?”overhearing what they said, Jesus told him, “Don’t be afraid; just believe. Mark5: 35-40.
Jarius friends were very discouraging they never believed in him nor Jesus Christ nor the power of God. And these were the many and Jesus Christ had a task to put them away, when come close to Jesus Christ then another environment is created for the old to go away and the new things come in. some of the people are in there in your life to inspire for a short time in order to discover yourself but they not sustain you to the very end. And we journey we shall meet more in the that journey who can reach us to our destiny, those who we think are the friends are the worst enemies to have around, imagine Jairius friends mockery to Jesus was to hinder the resurrection of His child, he sought Jesus earnestly with Honesty, patience, remember as he journeyed to seek Jesus help, He found him busy with other things and even on the way coming he still found another hindrance, the woman with blood also needed healing along the way. And now the friends are telling Jairius to leave Jesus that things won’t work? They are adding salt to the wound. Those who are telling you to try elsewhere for a solution than trusting God your creator or Jesus Christ your Saviour are not your friends, those who say this won’t work when you have a vision for it are simply called timer waster in your life. We have got to create a strong inner circle that believe in us, have same values, same goal and can inspire, can pray with us, and know who we are and try every to support and reach our destiny are the friends we need today, are the Christians we need today.
We need to be more careful the way we live our lives, the people we bring into our lives, some people can close your life, or end your life and others can really open and make you who you are supposed to be in life. When I was young I was being told this many times do not covet others people things because you own yours and enjoy them and indeed it taught me a lot, My God Father, whom I have lived with taught me how we can choose friends life and end lifeless. Many people would want to be close around us but that does not make our close friends or Christians because each may have their different motives. Jairus had many friends around him, those who believed in him were weeping for his daughter and those who did not were discouraging him from Jesus Christ the giver of life. What a devastating time for Jairius and many of us are like Jairius facing a deep sorrow situation but then we have friends who lead us away from the giver of life, do and console ourselves either in the bar, may be beach to come over it, what kind of advice is that? Instead of getting close to Jesus we are pushed away by our situations surrounding us, let me tell you my friend, Jairus knew and believed Jesus he is the only one he sought for the healing of his child even if it meant some of the friends are to go because of Jesus Christ he was not fearful. He clung to the Saviour of the world, He believed Jesus Christ no matter the mockery, His interest was to see the daughter resurrected and indeed Jesus Christ picked those could inspire him and closed the door for the mockery, sometimes there are things we don’t need to show others, otherwise they will discourage us, show them to your Spiritual Inner circle you have created around you and you shall have victory.
We are not putting boundaries to have friends but we are creating a boundary for the inner circle to realize your victory. We must be mindful of who interact with on daily basis, who we have relationships with. Otherwise our doors shall be closed not knowingly. The higher we go the tight Inner circle should be. Because when success comes those in the inner circle are the first to celebrate with. Then those outside the house where the dead girl is will be the last.
This article is meant to encourage Christians, everyone to choose friends, people who can be in the inner circle in order to have great victory without hindrance. You can have as many friends as you can but you cannot have them all in your inner circle those who are mockers are likely to be ordered of the house and stay outside until victory is realized then the gate can be opened to show them How might God is in order to ashame the devil. However, asking friends to leave the house is the hardest but you know we need to be like Jairus He trusted in Jesus Christ and so Jesus Christ had put away all out of the house without him struggling, as we get close to Jesus Christ then He will put away the worthless and the worthy shall remain in the house to witness the resurrection of the little. Then we shall get inspired because our inner circle was strong enough and we believe in ourselves and we do much with ourselves. Do not expect to move with chicken around you and the expect to fly like any eagle it won’t happen, you would need to move eagles to fly them. If you choose to be around wise people then you shall obtain the wisdom and have more knowledge to your lips and gain understanding.
Fellow Christians let’s not like people have not known God, let’s take an example of the Saviour Lord our God, the creator who gave up himself for us to have and choose His ways, they are not cumbersome but rather glorious and filled with life, joy, peace, wisdom, grace and everlasting life. I am not saying I have perfected but am also always looking unto him who gave himself for us through shed of his blood on the cross, am running a race not a sprint, and am running a marathon not a short a rail. I also look unto Jesus Christ the giver of life every day learning from him by His grace.
My brethren, May the good Lord govern your hearts, give you peace through Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. Grace be multiplied to you all who hope in Christ and may the Holy Spirit guide you into all the truth.
I remain Asher Namanya, the soldier in Christ Jesus the Lord.
